Samsung is all set to redefine foldable technology with its first-ever triple-folding smartphone — the Galaxy Z Trifold. Reports suggest that the company may unveil the device at the upcoming Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Summit later this week.
Although Samsung has not made an official announcement yet, the first leaked images of the device have surfaced online, showcasing its futuristic design. The Galaxy Z Trifold is expected to feature a G-style inward folding mechanism and, when fully unfolded, offer a large 9.96-inch (approximately 10-inch) display.
Samsung first teased the concept of a tri-fold phone during its Galaxy Unpacked event in January 2025, and now, the prototype has finally been spotted in real life.
According to South Korean publication Dailian, the Galaxy Z Trifold was displayed at the K-Tech Showcase held at Gyeongju Expo Park’s Air Dome. The device appeared to have a dual in-folding mechanism that opens in a G-shape, setting it apart from existing foldable phones.
In comparison, Huawei’s Mate XT Ultimate Edition unfolds in a Z-shape, while Samsung’s model adopts a more innovative G-fold design, making it a unique addition to the foldable lineup.
Reports claim that Samsung did not allow journalists or attendees to handle the device directly. Instead, two units of the Galaxy Z Trifold were showcased inside glass enclosures, indicating that the product is still under limited preview and not ready for public use just yet.
While Samsung has not officially confirmed the internal display size, leaks suggest that when unfolded, the phone will feature a 10-inch display panel.
As per Android Authority, the Galaxy Z Trifold may include a triple camera setup on the left rear panel, along with a front camera on the middle panel. The phone is expected to offer an immersive viewing and multitasking experience.
Industry reports indicate that the Samsung Galaxy Z Trifold could launch by the end of November or in early December 2025. This will mark Samsung’s entry into a new era of foldable smartphones, following the dual-fold Z Fold series.
Once launched, the Galaxy Z Trifold is expected to set a new benchmark in the foldable smartphone category with its innovative design and premium features.
