OnePlus 15
During the India launch of the OnePlus 15, the company surprised fans by confirming the arrival of another new smartphone — the OnePlus 15R. While the brand hasn’t revealed its launch date or complete specifications yet, the announcement during the OnePlus 15 livestream has officially confirmed that the device is coming soon.
The company’s Product Strategy Director, Marcel Campos, announced the OnePlus 15R during the live streaming of the OnePlus 15 launch. After revealing all details and pricing of the flagship model, the stream flashed a “Coming Soon” teaser for the 15R at the 45:58 mark, confirming its upcoming release.
Early reports suggest that the OnePlus 15R may be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset. This processor is expected to be a toned-down version of the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 used in the OnePlus 15, with clock speeds of up to 3.8GHz.
The phone may arrive with 12GB RAM in the base model, while a 16GB RAM variant could also be launched in India.
Leaks indicate that the OnePlus 15R might feature a 165Hz BOE LTPO OLED display. The device could offer a flat 1.5K resolution screen along with an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint sensor, enhancing the overall visual and security experience.
The upcoming device is rumored to house a massive 7,800mAh battery, making it larger than the 7,300mAh unit on the OnePlus 15. If true, the 15R would become the OnePlus smartphone with the biggest battery so far.
The device is also expected to support 120W fast charging and possibly 50W wireless charging for quick power backup.
According to leaked details, the OnePlus 15R could feature a metal frame and come with an IP68 dust and water resistance rating. However, the official specifications are still awaited from the company.
The recently launched OnePlus 15 comes in two variants —
12GB RAM + 256GB Storage: ₹72,999
16GB RAM + 512GB Storage: ₹79,999
