KTM RC 160 Launched to Challenge Yamaha R15! Get Racing Bike Thrills at Just ₹1.85 Lakh

KTM RC 160 Launch India: For sports bike enthusiasts in the Indian market, KTM has unleashed its latest sensation. The company has officially launched its most affordable sports bike, the KTM RC 160. This bike is designed to cater to young riders who seek the ‘Ready to Race’ experience on a modest budget.

KTM RC 160: Design and Looks

The KTM RC 160’s design is heavily inspired by its elder siblings, the RC 200 and RC 390. It features sharp and aggressive fairing. At the front, the bike boasts LED headlamps and boomerang-shaped LED DRLs, giving it a premium sporty identity on the road. Its aerodynamic design helps maintain stability at high speeds.

Engine and Potent Performance

Speaking of the bike’s heart, it is powered by a 164.2cc liquid-cooled, single-cylinder SOHC engine. This engine, in terms of performance, leaves many bikes in its segment behind.

Key Specifications:

FeatureDescription
Engine164.2 cc, Liquid Cooled
Max Power19 PS @ 9500 rpm
Max Torque15.5 Nm @ 7500 rpm
Gearbox6-speed Manual
Top Speed118 kmph

Features That Make It Special

The KTM RC 160 isn’t just fast in appearance; it’s also packed with modern features:

  • LCD Instrument Console: It features a digital display that shows crucial information to the rider, such as speed, odometer, and gear indicator.
  • Suspension: The front gets 37mm USD (Upside Down) forks, and the rear features a pre-load adjustable monoshock suspension.
  • Braking System: For safety, it comes with Dual-Channel ABS along with 320mm disc brakes at the front and 230mm at the rear.
  • Lighting: The bike uses LED lighting for its headlight, taillight, and turn indicators.

KTM RC 160 Price and Competition

KTM has priced this bike at ₹1,85,000 (ex-showroom). On-road, this could range between ₹2.12 lakh to ₹2.18 lakh, depending on the city.

In the Indian market, it will directly compete with established bikes like the Yamaha R15 V4 and Bajaj Pulsar RS200. Although it’s slightly more expensive than the R15, KTM’s signature ‘power-to-weight’ ratio could make it the top choice for racing enthusiasts.

Note: The KTM RC 160 is now available for booking and test rides at all authorized KTM dealerships across the country.
