War 2 Hindi Advance Booking Update: 78,000 Tickets Sold, ₹35 Crore Opening Expected

Mumbai: Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR’s much-awaited action thriller War 2, directed by Ayan Mukerji, is all set for a grand release this Independence Day weekend. The film is making waves in advance booking and is expected to have one of the biggest Bollywood openings of 2025.

Strong Advance Ticket Sales in Hindi

In leading multiplex chains such as PVR, Inox, and Cinepolis, the Hindi version of War 2 has already clocked 78,000 tickets sold with just one day left before release on 14 August 2025.

Across India, first-day pre-sales are estimated at 1.5–1.75 lakh tickets, ensuring a high-octane start at the box office.

Opening Day Box Office Prediction

With this momentum, industry trackers predict that War 2 could collect ₹30–35 crore net on day one for its Hindi version alone. If achieved, this will make it one of the biggest Hindi film openings of the year.

Telugu Dubbed Version Picks Up Pace

In the southern states, particularly Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, advance bookings for the Telugu dubbed version have also kicked in strongly — thanks to Jr NTR’s loyal fan base. While the numbers won’t match a pure Tollywood release due to its Bollywood tag, War 2 could still secure the third-biggest Bollywood opening in the region, behind Saaho and Adipurush.

Independence Day Holiday Boost

The film is expected to grow even bigger on its second day, 15 August (Independence Day). With the national holiday advantage and potential positive reviews, trade experts are eyeing a ₹50 crore+ net collection for day two (Hindi version).

Competition from Rajinikanth’s Coolie

Although War 2 seemed to have a clear box office path initially, Rajinikanth’s Coolie has emerged as a strong competitor — especially in South India and overseas markets.
However, in Hindi-speaking circuits, War 2 remains the top choice, with advance sales far ahead of Coolie.

Overseas Collection Estimates

Internationally, the advance bookings for War 2 are moderate. The action entertainer is eyeing around USD 2.5 million (₹20 crore) on day one overseas and USD 8 million (₹65 crore) for the opening weekend.

Worldwide, War 2’s first weekend gross could reach ₹300–350 crore, while Coolie is projected to go beyond ₹400 crore globally.

Final Word

With powerful star cast, high-octane action, and a festive release window, War 2 is primed for a massive start at the box office. All eyes are now on audience feedback and word-of-mouth, which could push the Independence Day weekend collections to record-breaking heights.
