Ducati Panigale V4 Tricolore: Ultra-Light Carbon Wheels and Advanced Brembo Brakes Unveiled

Ducati has officially launched its ultra-exclusive Panigale V4 Tricolore in India. Priced at ₹77 lakh (ex-showroom), this is a limited-edition superbike, with only 1,000 units globally, and India will receive very few of these collector-focused models. Bookings for the Panigale V4 Tricolore are now open.

Each Tricolore unit is made unique with an engraved machined aluminium steering plate, displaying the model name and unit number, ensuring its collector value and exclusivity.

Design and Livery: A Tribute to Italy

Based on the new Panigale V4, the Tricolore has been designed by Drudi Performance and Centro Stile Ducati. Its most striking feature is the asymmetrical white, red, and green livery, celebrating the Italian flag for the first time in this configuration.

The livery also incorporates black and white checkered flag elements on the lower fairing, symbolizing Ducati’s rich racing heritage and the spirit of victory.

Bipul Chandra, Managing Director of Ducati India, said:

“The Panigale V4 Tricolore represents the pinnacle of Italian craftsmanship, design, and exclusivity. This collector’s motorcycle blends Ducati’s racing legacy with luxury and attention to detail that only a limited-edition model can provide.”

Engine and Performance

Powering the Panigale V4 Tricolore is the 1,103cc, liquid-cooled V4 engine, producing:

  • 216 hp of power
  • 120.9 Nm of torque

This is the same engine as the standard Panigale V4, featuring a counter-rotating crankshaft, which enhances agility and stability during high-speed cornering. A 6-speed gearbox with dry clutch ensures precise, responsive shifting, making the bike ideal for both road and track use.

Chassis, Suspension, and Wheels

The Panigale V4 Tricolore features five-spoke carbon fiber wheels, which are approximately 0.907 kg lighter than the forged wheels of the Panigale V4 S. This reduces rotational inertia by 12% at the front and 19% at the rear, enhancing cornering and handling performance.

It also uses Ohlins Smart EC 3.0 electronic suspension, allowing real-time adjustments to the front fork, rear shock, and steering damper for a smoother and more controlled ride. The dry weight of the Tricolore is around 188 kg, making it one of the lightest superbikes in its class.

Braking System

The Tricolore is the first production bike in the world equipped with the Front Brake Pro system, featuring:

  • Two 338.5 mm finned Brembo T-Drive discs (6.2 mm thick)
  • Brembo Hypure calipers with anthracite anodized finish
  • MCS 19.21 master cylinder with remote lever adjustment

These racing-derived brakes were tested by Ducati Factory Riders in the 2024 Race of Champions and are designed to offer consistent high-performance braking, even under extreme track conditions.

Electronics and Rider Aids

The Panigale V4 Tricolore is loaded with advanced electronic systems:

  • Ducati Vehicle Observer (DVO)
  • Traction Control (DTC)
  • Wheelie Control (DWC)
  • Engine Brake Control (EBC)
  • Multiple Riding Modes
  • Race eCBS

These systems enhance safety, control, and performance, allowing riders to exploit the full potential of the bike both on-road and on-track.

Special Features for Collectors and Track Use

Additional premium equipment includes:

  • Alcantara seat
  • Racing plexiglass windscreen
  • Adjustable billet aluminium footpegs
  • GPS module
  • Dedicated dashboard animation at key-on

For track enthusiasts, Ducati provides optional accessories like racing tank cap, brake caliper conveyors, open carbon clutch cover, and license plate holder removal kit. Each unit also comes with a certificate of authenticity and customized bike cover.

Verdict

The Ducati Panigale V4 Tricolore is not just a motorcycle; it’s a collector’s masterpiece. Its combination of limited availability, racing-inspired features, advanced electronics, and Italian craftsmanship makes it a dream bike for enthusiasts. With a price tag of ₹77 lakh in India, it is clearly positioned as an ultra-premium, limited-edition superbike for serious Ducati fans and collectors.
