Tata Motors has officially refreshed India’s favorite micro-SUV. The 2026 Tata Punch Facelift has been launched with a starting price of ₹5.59 lakh (ex-showroom). While the Punch has been a consistent bestseller for the brand, this mid-life update brings it closer to its electric sibling (Punch.ev) in terms of aesthetics and technology.
The most significant highlight of this launch is the introduction of a more powerful iTurbo petrol engine, catering to enthusiasts who found the previous version a bit conservative on the highway.
The 2026 Tata Punch drops its older, rounded fascia for a much sharper, “Nexon-like” appearance. The front end is dominated by slim LED DRLs connected by a sleek black grille. The main headlamp cluster is now vertically stacked and features LED units on higher trims.
To enhance its “tough” appeal, Tata has added a redesigned “bull-guard” style bumper with a prominent silver skid plate. While the side profile remains familiar, the new 16-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels give it a fresh stance. At the rear, the SUV now sports connected LED taillights, making it look wider and more modern at night.
Step inside, and you’ll notice a cabin that feels significantly more premium. The dashboard now features a dual-tone grey and blue theme with improved soft-touch materials.
Tata has expanded the powertrain lineup to give customers more choices. The biggest news is the 1.2L iTurbo engine, which makes the Punch one of the most powerful cars in its segment.
| Engine Type | Power (PS) | Torque (Nm) | Transmission Options |
| 1.2L Revotron (Petrol) | 88 PS | 115 Nm | 5-speed MT / 5-speed AMT |
| 1.2L iTurbo (Petrol) | 120 PS | 170 Nm | 6-speed MT |
| 1.2L iCNG (Twin Cylinder) | 73.5 PS | 103 Nm | 5-speed MT / 5-speed AMT |
Note: The Punch is now the first SUV in India to offer the convenience of an AMT (Automatic) with a CNG kit, solving the common struggle of manual shifting in heavy traffic for CNG users.
Safety remains the backbone of the Tata Punch. Built on the ALFA architecture, the facelift continues to boast a 5-star Bharat NCAP rating.
Standard safety features across all variants now include:
The 2026 Tata Punch is available in six main trims: Smart, Pure, Pure+, Adventure, Accomplished, and Accomplished+ S.
The pricing starts at ₹5.59 lakh for the base petrol variant and goes up to ₹10.54 lakh for the top-end loaded version. With these updates, the Tata Punch is ready to take on rivals like the Hyundai Exter and the Maruti Suzuki Fronx with renewed vigor.
